Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc

Reduta Hall, Olomouc, Czech Republic

Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc
The Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc is one of the leading and oldest symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic. Based in the historic capital of Moravia. Throughout its existence, it has been an irreplaceable centre of musical activities in the region.

Recording sessions will be held at a historic Reduta Hall

The Reduta and its attached spaces were originally used as a ballroom with a balcony all around the hall. A raised stage had been installed to accommodate the philharmonic orchestra and the balcony above the stage had been narrowed. A large golden chandelier used to hang in the center of the hall. However, nothing of the original interiors has been preserved, so when deciding how to approach the entire reconstruction, the authors were able to lean towards current trends in architectural restoration. The entire concept is thus based on a dialogue between the original Empire architecture and a modern interior design.
