She began her musical training in France and, in 1993, was awarded Second Prize at the International Masters of French Singing Competition. She graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Rueil-Malmaison, studying with Élisabeth Vidal, and earned a Higher Diploma in Vocal Studies. He studies composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and continues his training in classical piano, jazz piano, and violin. Ethan has written works for solo piano, chamber ensembles, big band, and chorus. In 2025, Ethan was named the sole winner of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 13th Annual Essentially Ellington Composition and Arranging Contest. He is also a three-time winner of DownBeat Magazine’s 47th Annual Student Music Awards, where he was featured in a special profile. His original composition He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven was recognized as a National Winner by the Laureate Gala Competition. Ethan has participated in leading summer programs including Tanglewood, Interlochen, and Stanford Jazz. He holds a B.Mus. in Horn Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, an M.A. in Musicology from Bar-Ilan University, and a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Haifa. For more than two decades, Aviram served as a horn player in leading Israeli orchestras. As a vocalist, he has performed widely in recitals, operas, and concerts, collaborating with choirs, orchestras, and ensembles. As a composer, Aviram’s primary focus is opera. Four of his operas have been performed, including at the prestigious Kfar Blum Music Festival (2008). His latest opera, The House of Bernarda Alba—based on Lorca’s celebrated play—was produced in 2023. His works have been performed and recorded by major ensembles: the Netanya-Kibbutz Orchestra recorded selections of his music in 2018; the Israeli Sinfonietta Be’er-Sheva premiered his Three Short Pieces for Chamber Orchestra in 2024; and in 2025, his Sinfonietta will be premiered at a Carnegie Hall gala concert. Beyond opera, Aviram composes chamber, symphonic, and choral music, as well as musical theatre works. Kate has already distinguished herself in numerous national and international competitions. She recently received an Honorable Mention and the iClassical Academy Excellence Award from the Global Sound Espressivo Competition, and won First Place in the American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition (2022). She was also awarded Honorable Mention in the 2022 William Knabe International Piano Competition, and First Place in the 2020 Forte International Music Competition & Festival. Kate has performed multiple times at Carnegie Hall, including both Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall, as a Judges’ Distinction Award winner of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition and as First Place winner of the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music. She has also been recognized by competitions such as the Glory International Music Competition, YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival, and the Great Composers Competition series. With the commission from the Dutch Grieg Piano Duo in 2018 he composed his "Rhapsody for Piano Duet" which was premiered by the Grieg Piano Duo at the Piano Loop Festival in 2019 in Split. Of his smaller works there is a song "Oblak" for tenor or soprano on the text of Dobriša Cesarić, two colorful vocalizes for soprano, Serenade and Minuet for the double bass. In 2019 he composed Album for the Young which consists of 72 progressive pieces of difficulty intended for young piano players as well as players that are on intermediate and advanced level of playing.
