Myla Larmond, 11, began playing violin at age three and currently studies with Elizabeth Faidley in New York City. She previously attended Juilliard’s Preparatory Division, serving as principal second violinist in Juilliard’s MAP Orchestra and performing with the New York Philharmonic’s Performing Inclusion concert in 2023.


Myla has soloed with professional orchestras including the American Sinfonietta and Sempre Musick Orchestra, earning a Special Award for Best Performance of a Baroque Concerto. She has also performed with the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association and is currently Assistant Principal Second Violinist in Vermont’s top youth orchestra.


Her achievements include over a dozen top awards in international competitions, the Toby Ann Stavisky NY State Senator Award, and the Black Violin Foundation James Miles Musical Innovation Award. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and David Geffen Hall, and has participated in masterclasses with Midori, Stefan Jackiw, and Soovin Kim.


Myla has received merit scholarships to programs such as Interlochen’s Junior Advanced Strings and the Sphinx Summer Performance Academy at Juilliard. She enjoys sharing music with her community—from concert halls to schools, churches, and even backyards—and is inspired by the power of music to reflect and enhance the beauty around us.
